Lumiere

Are there laundry facilities?
A washer/dryer machine is provided, also iron and iron board.

Are beach towels provided? 
Yes they are (and bathroom towels of course).

What is provided in the kitchen?
You'll find a well equipped kitchen with coffee machine, cookware and utensils for most culinary requirements. 

Where can I park at Sugar Hill?
There is plenty of secure parking at the Tennis Village, extremely convenient for guests of Lumiere.

Is there maid service?
Yes, the maid comes once a week to clean and tidy. A more frequent service is available on request.
 

Is there an internet connection in the apartment?
Yes, Lumiere has its own wifi and you will be given free access on arrival.

What about telephone?
There is a landline which can be used for free local calls (eg booking taxis, restaurants etc).

Is smoking permitted?
Lumiere is a No Smoking apartment.

What are the bathroom facilities?
The marble lined bathroom has a generous corner bath, with shower over, and 'his and hers' basins. A hair dryer is provided.

What about access to Lumiere?
Lumiere is on the top floor, with 2 levels (hence breezy, peaceful and with superlative views).  There is elevator access.


Sugar Hill

Is tennis equipment provided?
Keen players are advised to bring their own gear. You can hire rackets at the Club House Reception.

Do I need to book courts?
Yes, you can book a court at Reception - use of the courts is free.

What are the conditions of use of the Fitness Centre?
You are welcome to use it whenever it is open, no need to book.

What is the Sugar Hill restaurant like?
The Deck at Sugar Hill is wonderfully convenient and does a great rum punch sundowner - happy hour specials make it even better. When you don't fancy going out, the takeaway option is brilliant with thin crust pizzas and delicious pastas to eat in the comfort of your own home from home.

Out & About

Where are the nearest shops?
The nearest supermarket is in Holetown (5 minutes drive), opposite the Limegrove shopping centre.

The cavernous Massy supermarket at Warrens (15 minute drive) offers a huge range, in-store bakery and jerk-style rotisserie - perfect for dining in Bajan-style.

Where is the nearest medical facility?
The Sandy Crest Medical Centre in Holetown, near the Limegrove centre and Sandy Lane hotel, is perhaps the best on the island. It is open 24/7.

Can you recommend a good spa?
There are a number of excellent facilities close to Sugar Hill. 'Indulgence' at nearby Mullins Beach is well thought of. Karen will be able to advise on the latest and most appropriate, depending on what kind of treatments you are after.

 


Your holiday

Can I pre-book airport pick up?
Yes of course. Karen (our property manager) can advise when you make contact, as well as help with car hire etc.

How can I avoid queues at the airport?
Karen can also arrange a Fast Track Service - meeting you as you disembark and escorting you through immigration and passport control.

Can I request some groceries on arrival?
Again, yes of course – Karen and her team can arrange this.

What about money?
The official currency is the Barbados dollar ($Bds) but U.S. dollars are widely accepted, as are credit cards. ATMs are widespread.

What about electrical appliances?
The supply in Barbados is 110 volts/50 cycles. Standard plug types are 2 flat blades (U.S. style). If travelling from Europe you will need adaptors.

What is the time difference?
The time zone is Eastern Caribbean (5 hours behind GMT Summertime).
